About Me

Hold it lightly……

Hi, I’m Helen Farrell. I am originally from the South-west of England and I moved to Northern Ireland in 2021 with the vision of making my new home a sanctuary for healing, inspired by nature. Since then I have established my counselling psychotherapy and clinical supervision practice, developed group and individual meditation sessions and opened my doors for therapists to come and offer themselves self-nurture at specially designed retreats. All of my work is deeply informed by the natural world that I am surrounded by in my peaceful, rural location.

I have previously worked as a counselling tutor, and counselling lead for a mental health charity. Prior to that I worked in patient advocacy in the field of long-term health conditions, both in the charity and corporate sectors. I am naturally drawn to work that seeks to nurture and heal people and do a variety of additional consultative roles. I am a mentor and assistant trainer with the Institute of Embodied Psychotherapy. I work as an assessor and external verifier with the CPCAB. I have hosted a podcast and work within the counselling team for the Amcare Group. I am on the Register of practitioners with the Churches Ministerial Counselling Service and I am the mental health consultant with the Massage4MentalHealth campaign and training programme.

I studied Psychology and English Literature at University of Wales, Cardiff, gaining my BA (Hons) in 2001. I then gained my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from Guildford College in 2016 and my certificate in Therapeutic Supervision in 2021. I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I continue to study and learn in the fields of psychology, mental health, therapeutic work, meditation, nature-based practices and personal development.
