Counselling & Psychotherapy

To care for another individual means to know and to experience the other as fully as possible.” ~ Irvin D. Yalom

About Counselling & Psychotherapy with me……

I work one-to-one with adults, offering counselling and psychotherapy, either in-person at my premises in Omagh, or online via Zoom.

I am a supportive and empathic listener and observer for my clients, throughout times of distress, confusion, loss and despair. The relationship between me and my clients is based on trust, honesty and respect, and this is at the very heart of my counselling.

I work in a person-centred way, which means I am with my clients as a fellow human being, rather than an ‘expert’, and my clients can explore their emotions and relationships in their own way, at their own pace. Therapy of this kind can bring about real personal growth as clients gain insight into themselves, in a safe, non-judgemental space, without being told what to do.

What to expect: I work from a peaceful and private indoor therapy room at my premises just outside Omagh, Co Tyrone, as well as online. I also work outdoors using natural spaces to do walk and talk sessions where I find the presence of nature and the element of movement can really help you process and reflect on what you are going through.

How I can help: I have experience of working with clients with anxiety, long-term medical conditions, depression, despair, loss and relationships issues. I regularly attend continued professional development training courses to further expand my experience and develop my awareness and practice. I am also an Embodied Psychotherapist, which means I can help you work through emotions stored in your body, which can be especially helpful if you find it hard to talk and open up. Where appropriate I use meditation and guided visualisation with clients, particularly where clients are exploring their spirituality or deeper inner self.

I am proud to support the LGBTQ+ community as an ally 🏳️‍🌈

Fees

I offer a free 20 minute initial consultation, via zoom, for us to meet and discuss your counselling needs, and establish if we both feel we could work well together.

If we decide to go ahead, I charge £60 per session (50 minutes).

I hold full professional liability insurance, have an enhanced AccessNI check and am an Accredited member of the BACP.

Please note: I do not offer evening or weekend sessions. I work with individual adults (over 18s) and cannot offer couples counselling at this time.
