Retreats

I have never experienced such a relaxed vibe, I am a complete retreat convert.” ~ Suzanna, retreat guest

About Retreats at Airmid House….

Specially designed for therapists

Our carefully and lovingly crafted retreats are aimed solely at counsellors and therapists to provide a co-created space of rest, nourishment and restoration. Self-care is a vital element of working ethically as a practitioner, and we offer weekends designed to help you do just that.

During the Covid-19 lockdowns I was part of an online peer support group for therapists, and came to recognise how incredibly powerful it is when practitioners hold space for each other. This sparked the idea of creating a kind of sangha for practitioners – a feeling of community where love and support are given and received by all involved. When I moved to Airmid House I knew that hosting retreats was how I wanted to do this.

What to expect:

Our tasteful and comfortable twin rooms are designed to offer you peace and tranquility for your stay. Our guest sitting room and outdoor spaces are yours to enjoy for the duration of your time with us and we will share our meals in our communal, farmhouse kitchen. All meals are provided (plant-based, non-alcohol, dietary requirements catered for) and Rob’s homemade cakes come highly recommended!

Each retreat has its own carefully planned programme, designed to include connecting group time, nurturing complementary therapy opportunities, and plenty of time for self-nourishment. We share our home with lots of gentle and therapeutic animals – Peggy the dog, and Tiki and Meg, our cats. Our retreats host a maximum of 4 guests, making this an intimate and personal experience, with fellow practitioners.

Upcoming retreats in 2024:

We are taking a break over the Autumn and Winter of 2024 and look forward to hosting you at a future retreat in Spring 2025 onwards! Why not sign up to our mailing list to be kept informed of future events?

You are invited to come and find equilibrium through a balance of movement and stillness, solitude and connection.

During your stay we will share in some group activities, including guided movement, meditation and guided journalling, and outdoor activities as weather allows, including wild swimming, walking and forest bathing. To draw in the theme of balance we will engage in contrasting experiences, including purposeful, conscious time alone, and in stillness, as well as time in connection with others through movement. And of course you will have plenty of time to relax, read, reflect, draw, play our piano, sleep and make new friends. The whole weekend is designed to offer you choice and autonomy.

Testimonials

It was easy to “Just be” there, which felt great and was exactly what I needed. Thank you!” (Orla, retreat guest)

The space is a beautiful, nourishing, calming, peaceful, accommodating and cosy environment. The trip to Gortin, meditations, relaxation time were truly nourishing, connecting, and naturally grounding experiences. Helen’s connectedness to nature and her gift of sharing the Knowledge is both inspiring and therapeutic. And ohhh those divine cakes…..” (Senia, retreat guest)

Your guided meditation before bed was like a warm hug! The outings were well spaced and never felt rushed. I loved the forest bathing and the trip to the lake. It was just such a relief to be so relaxed and have my guard down and to be able to speak to people on a different level than I normally do in groups.” (Di, retreat guest)
